Oregon wide receiver Ryan Pellum entered the transfer portal just a few hours before the winter window closed for the Ducks. An hour or so later, recruiting experts realized that Pellum's entry had a "do not contact" tag on his name.

When it comes to NCAA recruiting, a "do not contact" tag indicates that the athlete does not want to be contacted by recruiters at that time. Usually, that signifies they are already talking with a specific team and don't want to entertain other options.

The former four-star wideout played just one season with the Ducks before entering his name into the portal. Throughout the 2024 season, Pellum only took the field during special teams snaps.

Pellum was the No. 28 wide receiver in the class of 2024 and the No. 171 overall athlete. The California native was the No. 12 athlete coming out of the state in 2024.

Pellum had one punt return which he fair caught, and therefore earned 0 yards on, and one assisted tackle throughout the season. Because of his minimal snaps, Pellum maintained four years of eligibility when he entered the transfer portal on Monday, Jan. 6.

Head coach Dan Lanning has seen a handful of Ducks enter the portal but none of great significance as a majority have been redshirt freshmen and sophomores who saw minimal to no playing time for Oregon throughout the beginning of their collegiate careers.

The winter transfer window officially closed on Dec. 28 but because of Oregon's appearance in the Rose Bowl Game, the Ducks had until Jan. 6 to enter their name into the portal.
