Through the first three weeks of his NFL career, Bucky Irving has been a revelation.

The former Oregon running back leads all rookie rushers with 154 yards on 25 carries and his touches have been increasing each week. He had a strong workload from the get-go in Week 1, but his production has increased since.

In his first career game, he had nine carries for 62 yards and then he saw his numbers decline a bit against Detroit in Week 2 with 22 yards on seven touches. He really broke out against Bo Nix and the Broncos, rushing for 70 yards on nine carries and he added three receptions for 14 yards. He looked like a budding star.

And his coach agrees.

Following the loss to Denver in which Irving had 84 all-purpose yards, Todd Bowles took to the media and stated that the former Duck has earned a larger workload.

Irving getting more snaps could mean that he's slowly stealing the starting job away from Rachaad White. The veteran running back was expected to have a breakout season with the Buccaneers but has been egregiously underwhelming through three weeks, rushing 31 times for just 66 yards and he has yet to score a touchdown. He does have 12 catches for 98 yards, though.

But this statement from Bowles makes me think that Irving is about to be the go-to back moving forward while White could be used more in the passing game.

This seems like a good sign for the former Oregon star,
