Dan Lanning and Oregon football are working hard to figure out what needs to corrected after two weeks of mediocre play. The Ducks are 2-0 with wins over Idaho and Boise State, but neither victory was all that impressive, considering Oregon was No. 3 nationally to start the year and both games were at home with huge spreads.

The Ducks beat Idaho 24-14 after holding just a three-point lead in the fourth quarter and they needed a fourth-quarter comeback to beat Boise State 37-34.

It hasn't been the ideal start that Duck fans have been looking for, but there's a chance to make up for that on Saturday afternoon against rival Oregon State in Corvallis. A convincing win here will shut the doubters up for at least one more week.

In what is becoming a new series here, I ran a simulation on EA Sports College Football 25 for the Oregon vs. Oregon State game and here's what it believes will happen on Saturday.

Results from Oregon State vs. Oregon football simulation

Oregon went into Corvallis and secured a 40-14 blowout win but it was the box score that left me confused from this game. The Ducks finished with only 273 total yards of offense while Oregon State had 370. The Beavers also had 16 first downs to Oregon's six.

The major difference in this game was the turnover battle as Oregon State had four to Oregon's one which led to the lopsided score. The Oregon defense was the X-factor.

Let's take a look at some of the key contributors from the win, per EA Sports.

Player

Stats

Dillon Gabriel

10-for-12, 85 yards, 2 TDs

Jordan James

24 carries, 106 yards, 1 TD

Terrance Ferguson

3 catches, 44 yards, 1 TD

Traeshon Holden

2 catches, 31 yards, 2 TDs

Brandon Johnson

8 tackles, 1 pass breakup

Jordan Burch

6 tackles, 2.5 sacks

Jabbar Muhammad

7 tackles, 1 tackle for loss, 1 interception

Jeffrey Bassa

8 tackles, 1 sack

Matayo Uiagalelei

4 tackles, 2 sacks, 1 tackle for loss

Atticus Sappington

2-2 on field goals with a long of 42

It wasn't a perfect performance, by any means, but it was a solid showing by the defense with Uiagalelei and Burch both recording at least two sacks. James also led the offense with over 100 yards rushing and a touchdown and we even had a Dante Moore touchdown pass in garbage time.

Fans are hoping this result comes to fruition on Saturday afternoon.
