The fourth Duck drafted on the third day of the NFL Draft, safety Evan Williams is heading to the Green Bay Packers.
Williams was selected by the Packers as the 111th overall pick of the draft, and the fourth former Oregon player drafted in Round 4.
An elite safety for the Ducks, Williams had 82 tackles last season. He also had 1 pass deflection and a stunning 4.5 sacks.
After starting his college career at Fresno State, Williams immediately made an impact in Eugene and quickly became the starting safety for Dan Lanning’s defensive squad.
In the 2024 Reese’s Senior Bowl, Williams had 2 interceptions and brought down the first tackle of the game.
While he didn’t have the most outstanding day at the NFL Combine in February, Williams boosted his draft stock at Oregon’s Pro Day less than a month later.
Williams played five seasons of college football before entering his name in the NFL Draft.
Throughout his entire collegiate career, Williams had 4 forced fumbles and 4 interceptions.
Earlier in Day 3, wide receiver Troy Franklin and defensive tackle Brandon Dorlus were drafted from Oregon. Williams’ second-half in the Ducks’ secondary safety Khyree Jackson was also selected in the fourth round.
As Ducks were flying off the board, Williams was the sixth overall former Oregon player to hear his name called.
Williams will be joining former Oregon Duck linebacker Justin Hollins in Green Bay. Hollins played for the Ducks from 2014-18.
