Oregon traveled to this decade’s headquarters for collegiate softball as the Ducks took on Norman, Oklahoma and the various teams in the Normal Regional.

In game one, Oregon softball dominated Boston University with an 8-0 victory in just five innings.

However, the three-time consecutive national champion Oklahoma Sooners would be up next on Oregon’s docket and the Sonoers would (seemingly) slide by the Ducks’ defense.

Despite the Ducks earning an early 1-0 lead in the first inning, OU would battle back against UO to find a 6-1 lead over Oregon.

The Sooners were feeling comfortable heading into the top of the seventh inning but Oregon was able to eke out a homerun and an RBI double to bring the game within 3 runs. However, the Ducks’ last-minute offense wasn’t enough to usurp the defending national champs.

Oregon found itself in the semifinal elimination game of the Norman Region, once again facing the Boston Terriers.

From the start, Oregon’s bats were hot and the Ducks seemed ready to breeze past the Terriers, once again in order to take on the Sooners in the regional final.

Going up 1-0 during the top of the second, the Ducks were back in control of their destiny. Oregon earned a 4-0 lead by the end of the fourth and there was no stopping the Ducks at that point.

Oregon finished their drawn-out Saturday by demolishing Boston 8-2 in order to move on to the regional finals against the National Champion Oklahoma Sooners.
