The 2024 Paris Olympics are winding down and while all eyes were on Team USA Basketball coming back from down 15 in the second half to beat Nikola Jokic and Serbia, one of the most electric moments from this year's Games flew under the radar a few days ago.

Former Oregon track & field star Cole Hocker may have had the best moment of the entire 2024 Olympic Games for the United States.

The distance sprinter made the 1500-meter finals with a chance to win a gold medal earlier this week and he found himself behind the pack midway through the race.

Hocker was even sitting in second or third before the final stretch when he dug deep and finished the race strong, sprinting ahead of the reigning world champion in the event.

It was honestly one of the most improbable comebacks in the entire Olympics this year and it was one of the biggest upsets as he finished just sixth at the 1500-meter event back in the 2020 Olympics and he was trailing behind the favorites for most of this sprint.

It's not all that surprising seeing him come away with gold, however, as he was one of the best runners at the collegiate level while he was at Oregon and won plenty of titles.

At the 2024 Indoor World Championships, he won silver in the 1500-meter sprint and he broke his previous personal best at the event at the Paris Olympics and now he's a gold medalist.

Leave it to Oregon to produce the most electric athletic achievement at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
