The early days of the back-and-forth between James Madison fans and Oregon social media ahead of Saturday's College Football Playoff game were marked by refreshing good humor and friendly banter, until the JMU side went dark.
First they brought up Auburn, and now they're pulling up all the painful subjects. By week's end they posted, "There's something about a team in purple" over highlights from the Huskies' narrow victories that cost the 2023 Oregon team a shot at the playoff.
Never mind that the Ducks buried that painful memory with two decisive victories over Dubs Down, relegating them to minor bowls on the way to a Big Ten Championship and a playoff berth. Duck fans were willing to be gracious hosts and sociable until the Dukes aligned themselves with a sworn enemy.
With friendly host mode over, it's Ducks by 50
It's all fun and games until you bring up Michael Penix and Rome Odunze, Jake Browning and the point. Posting Cam Newton tossing a touchdown (the one he threw after a Cliff Harris interception was taken off the board) was not exactly kosher either.

In all seriousness, it was a hilarious edit, but now that JMU Sports News brought out the paper cuts and the lemon juice, it's war. The Cinderella story is over.
