Dan Lanning and the Oregon Ducks already have the best class of 2026 prospects in the country, but as the old adage goes, the rich get richer.
Most recently, On3's Steve Wiltfong, a recruiting expert, logged his prediction that four-star cornerback Davon Benjamin would commit to Lanning and the Ducks. Benjamin, the No. 18 national prospect and the No. 2 cornerback in the class.
Recently, the Ducks have emerged as one of the two schools that five-star quarterback prospect Jared Curtis is considering for his future, alongside the Georgia Bulldogs. With the possibility of Oregon having one of the most dominant offensive rooms in the nation, building the Ducks' secondary with an addition like Benjamin would go far.
247Sports' Greg Biggins, a national recruiting analyst, had high praise for Benjamin when writing a player profile on the young defensive back.
"Versatile athlete who could have more upside than any defensive back in the class. Solid 6-0, 180 pound frame and can run," Biggins wrote. "As a corner, he shows physicality at the line, can flip hips, change direction, break on the ball, has excellent closing speed and can run with anyone.
"Plays a physical game, is tough in run support and will lay guys out. Explosive with the ball in his hands via INT/fumble recovery and is strong in the return game as well. Really strong all around game, true cover guy who can make the big play and has a high athletic ceiling."
The Ducks already have 10 commitments from the class of 2026, including four-star safety Xavier Lherisse as well as three 4-star and one 3-star defensive line prospects.
Lanning doesn't take his foot off of the recruiting gas pedal, and the results are paying off. The Oregon Ducks are going to be good, if not great, for years to come.
