Terrance Ferguson was a beast for the Oregon Ducks, especially during their debut season in the Big Ten. As the former Oregon tight end became a go-to guy for quarterback Dillon Gabriel, and led the Ducks to an incredible 13-1 overall record and a conference title.
Now, Ferguson is packing his bags and hitting I-5 south to join the Los Angeles Rams and, hopefully, become a new go-to target for veteran quarterback Matthew Stafford.
T-Ferg, as he's lovingly referred to by Oregon fans and his teammates, was selected in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft as the 46th overall pick. He was the Rams' first draft pick of the year.
Does Matthew Stafford target tight ends?
Last year, Matthew didn't have any big-name tight ends as targets. However, between Colby Parkinson, Tyler Higbee, Hunter Long, and Davis Allen, the Rams targeted tight ends 83 times in total, completing 61 of those passes for 459 yards and three touchdowns.
Gaining the massive presence that Ferguson provides at 6-foot-5 and 255 pounds should gives the tight end a huge leg up as targets for Stafford. Not to mention, the former Duck is pretty darn getting at making himself available down field.
Terrance Ferguson college career stats
- 134 receptions
- 1,537 receiving yards
- 16 receiving touchdowns
Every single year, Ferguson earned more yards on more receptions as he played four seasons for the Ducks. Not to mention, he averaged four touchdowns per year, an astronomical number for a collegiate tight end.

In Oregon's two games against the Ohio State Buckeyes, Ferguson had a combined 133 yards on just nine receptions, as well as 30 yards and one touchdown against the Penn State Nittany Lions in the Big Ten Championship game.
To put it lightly, Ferguson should have an incredible career in the NFL, especially with a veteran leader like Stafford throwing the ball to him.
