As the Oregon Ducks creep closer and closer to their matchup against Ohio State in the Rose Bowl game, the team's recruiting staff continues to dominate both the transfer portal and amongst high school prospects.

Most recently, Zahir Mathis, one of the top unsigned prospects in the class of 2025 and former Ohio State commit, announced that he planned to visit the Ducks ahead of the new year.

Alongside the Ducks in Mathis' December travel plan are the UCLA Bruins, the Florida State Seminoles, and the Michigan Wolverines. Mathis, who is originally from Pennsylvania, also holds offers from top programs like the Alabama Crimson Tide, the Penn State Nittany Lions, and more.

Already, head coach Dan Lanning lays claim to one of the top recruiting classes in the nation – Oregon currently residing at No. 3 in the nation after losing five-star wide receiver commit Dallas Wilson to the Florida Gators.

The Texas Longhorns and the Alabama Crimson Tide are the only programs in the country ranked ahead of the Ducks for their 2025 recruiting classes. Oregon currently holds commitments from 3 five-star prospects, 16 four-star prospects, and 1 three-star prospect.

Lanning's 2026 recruiting class currently ranks first in the country, ahead of the USC Trojans and the Tennessee Volunteers, with 10 total blue-chip prospects committed to the Ducks so far.

The No. 1 Oregon Ducks and the No. 8 Ohio State Buckeyes are set to clash, once again, in the Rose Bowl Game to determine who will move on to the semifinal round of the first-ever 12-team College Football Playoffs. The game is scheduled to kick off at 2 p.m. PT on Jan. 1, 2025.
