The Oregon Ducks, already without Wide Receiver Devon Allen who was injured on the opening kickoff of the Rose Bowl on New Year’s Day will be without another talented Wideout for the National Championship Game on Monday. According to Comcast Sportsnet Northwest and Aaron Fentress Freshman Wide Receiver Darren Carrington was suspended for the game after failing an NCAA administered drug test. He reportedly tested positive for marijuana.

Carrington was one of the stars of the Rose Bowl against Florida State bringing in two touchdowns. He also had seven catches for one-hundred twenty six yards in the Pac-12 Championship game vs Arizona. Allen led the team in touchdown catches with seven this season. That is a lot of Offensive Production that will not see the field.

The Oregon Ducks still have talent at the position including Keanon Lowe and Dwayne Stanford. One player on watch now is Bralon Addison who was injured before the season even started and was suited up and appeared ready to go in the Rose Bowl against Florida State. Would Oregon burn his medical gray shirt and play him in the National Championship? Anything is possible and it is for a National Title.

Oregon is not for a loss of weapons on Offense. The Running Game is still loaded with Thomas Tyner, Royce Freeman and Charles Nelson. The Ducks may have to turn to their power running game, and of course the Ducks also have a hybrid of sorts in Running Back/Wide Receiver Byron Marshall.

Oregon and Ohio State kickoff on Monday night at 5:30pm Pacific Time in the National Championship. (5:30pm Pacific Time, ESPN)
