The Oregon Ducks begin a new season with another first year Quarterback following the success and 9-4 season with Vernon Adams. Dakota Prukop likely takes over at the helm with several young players behind him that could also become household names quickly. The name on Offense is Royce Freeman and the Defense should be improved from last season with the addition of Brady Hoke as Defensive Coordinator.
The Amway Coaches Poll puts the Oregon Ducks at 22nd, and among five teams from the Pac-12 Conference in the first poll of the season. The highest ranked Pac-12 team is Stanford at number 7. Oregon will have an opportunity to move up with USC and Washington ranked 17th and 18th respectively. UCLA also comes in behind the Ducks at 24. Utah, Nebraska and Arizona are among the teams that have received votes.
The top five is not much of a surprise with Alabama, Clemson, Oklahoma, Florida State, and Ohio State looking to get through the season to the College Football Playoff
