The Oregon Ducks Softball team has opened the season at 9-0 and will look to continue their winning ways in the Rainbow Wahine Classic this weekend.

After an impressive start, the Oregon Softball team moved up to 5th this week in the USA Today poll. Oregon appears to be hitting on all cylinders with a team batting average of .251 and Ducks Pitching is holding their own with a 1.19 Team ERA, led by Freshman Maggie Balint.

Balint has been impressive and has 5 wins on the season just two weeks in. She is averaging over 11 Strikeouts per apperance in those starts. Sophomore Megan Kleist leads the team with the lowest ERA at 0.30 which has me thinking of Cheridan Hawkins in her first few seasons in the circle for Oregon.

The Oregon Ducks open the Tournament facing Hawaii on Thursday night.

The Ducks will see Hawaii, Montana and UNLV over the weekend. The Runnin’ Rebels are 7-2 and the second best team Oregon will see this weekend. They are batting an even .300. Oregon has won ten straight games over Hawaii, but the Rainbows Danielle Garcielita is one to watch hitting a team best .478.

The Rainbow Wahine Classic starts Thursday night at 8pm Pacific Time.
