Oregon Ducks Meet Michigan Monday Night in New York

The Oregon Ducks are off to a good start this season at 3-0 and will face their first ranked team of the season on Monday night against Michigan out of the Big Ten Conference. The Wolverines enter the game losing some key members of last year’s class including Nick Stauskas and Glen Robinson III. Oregon lost key players from last season for a different reason, but both teams have used their games this season to build team chemistry.

For the Oregon Ducks, Head Coach Dana Altman has Senior Joseph Young leading the team. He is averaging twenty-six points per game this season. In the most recent effort he lead all scorers with twenty-seven points in a win over Toledo on Friday. Michigan has several players to watch including Zak Irvin, who is averaging twenty-one points this season and Derrick Walton Jr. who is shooting over fifty percent on field goals with an eighteen point average through three games this season.

The Oregon Defense has been led by key plays from Freshman early on including Jordan Bell and Dwayne Benjamin who have helped the team to six blocks in the early going. Casey Benson also leads the team with four steals. Team Chemistry is coming together again for Altman and the Oregon Ducks. The team now prepares for games on back to back days for the first time this season.

Oregon and Michigan tip off Monday night from the Barclays Center in New York in the Progressive Legends Classic at 6:30pm Pacific Time. The game will be broadcast on ESPN3.
