Oregon Ducks Stumble at UCLA, Abdul-Bassit Scores 24 in Loss
There are games for Oregon where it is clear that one man is the leader of the team. Senior Joseph Young is the go-to guy, at least he was to start the season. Since then everyone has stepped up, whether it is Dwayne Benjamin with a clutch shot, Dillon Brooks with the inside move or Young with a clutch three point shot. On Saturday another name was added to the list. In the loss Young had eighteen and Elgin Cook had twelve.

In a game against UCLA on the road Bassit had twenty four points including a career high seven three point shots. Oregon would come within one point at halftime, but would not get any closer the rest of the way against the Bruins who have just one loss at Pauley Pavilion this season. UCLA had a fast start and started the game on a 10-2 run which did not help Oregon’s chances at a victory.
Time is running out for Oregon to make an impression and as I’ve talked about in recent weeks road wins will have to start going their way. The Ducks have two home games remaining and they are this week. On Wednesday night Oregon hosts Colorado at 8pm on ESPNU. The home finale is set for Sunday at Noon against Utah.
