Oregon Ducks Lineman Yruretagoyena Retiring From Football

The Oregon Ducks will find themselves down another Offensive Lineman entering the 2015 season. Senior Andre Yruretagoyena announced he is retiring from football and will forgo his senior season with the Rose Bowl Champions.  This leaves Oregon with a key question entering the upcoming season on the Offensive Line.

The Ducks do have key players returning with experience from last season including Cameron Hunt, Doug Brenner, Matt Pierson and Pisarcik. Head Coach Mark Helfrich will also have Tyler Johnstone back from injury after missing all of last season. Once again, health will be a concern when it comes to the Offensive Line in 2015 as it was in 2014, at least in my mind.

Yruretagoyena played in key games during the 2014 season as the Oregon Ducks made it all the way to the National Championship. He played in the first two games of the season before an injury would sideline him for most of the year. He made appearances in six games last season and finishes his Oregon career playing in seventeen games.

Oregon lost in the National Championship Game to Ohio State. The Ducks will begin Spring Practice on April 1st in anticipation of the final Spring Practice in the annual Spring Game on May 2nd.
