The Oregon Softball team started the season in a roll, reeling off eighteen win straight for their best start in program history before falling to then seventh ranked Baylor and top ranked Florida in February. Not a bad start to the season. The month of March did not start out well for the Ducks.

It was a rematch against Florida on Friday in the Judy Garman Classic. Oregon would again fall to the Florida Gators 5-1. The top team in the country hit two home runs in the first inning to take an early lead on Oregon. The Ducks threatened with back to back singles in the third inning, but flew out to end the inning and the scoring threat.

Florida added three more runs and never looked back. The Gators have the Ducks number this season. Oregon is 0-2 against Florida this season and 2-9 All-time. Mike White has watched his team hit at a .143 clip this season against Florida and the hope is, of course, if there happens to be another rematch this year the team will have a different approach following the rest of the regular season.

Oregon faces Pacific at 2:30pm Pacific Time and Fresno State at 5pm Pacific Time on Saturday in the Judy Garman Classic.
