Peterson Dominates Seven Innings For Oregon in Win Over St John’s
The Oregon Ducks are building momentum this season. One area that could have been an issue entering 2015 was pitching, but Head Coach George Horton has shown in the past that he can build a team from the ground up and that process continues this season. Cole Irvin is coming off Tommy John Surgery and Conor Harber has been stellar in relief. On Saturday night Freshman Starting Pitcher David Petersen earned his second win of the season.

Peterson threw seven innings of two run ball against St. John’s, a team that took the Ducks to extra innings on Friday. The result would not be close on Saturday evening with a 7-2 Oregon victory. In seven innings he struck out seven and allowed just six hits. The Offense was on point and Mitchell Tolman is showing his value and settling in at the plate.
For the game Tolman was a perfect three for three with a double, a triple and an RBI. It was also his thirty-ninth career multi-hit game. For the season Tolman leads the team in hitting at .383 and will look to continue his dominance at the plate as Oregon goes for the sweep of St. John’s.
The final game of the series is set for Noon Sunday at PK Park.
