Not only did the Oregon Ducks show why they are the number two team in the country with ten runs of Offense, but Starting Pitcher Cheridan Hawkins did not allow a hit through five run-ruled innings in the win over Oregon State in the Pac-12 Conference opener for both teams on Friday evening at Howe Field.

Hawkins allowed a leadoff walk in the fourth inning ending a bid for a perfect game. The Ducks have won seven straight games against Oregon State and are now 21-3 on the season. Hawkins netted her fourth no-hitter of her career in a game where Oregon ended the game early in a run-ruled fifth inning. Oregon State gave Oregon the lead with three straight walks in the second before Janie Takeda hit a triple, clearing the bases and giving the Ducks a 4-0 lead.
Hawkins finished the game with a perfect fifth inning. In the game Oregon spread around the wealth with seven different players getting a hit and six different players earning a walk. The game was the fourth no-hitter for Cheridan Hawkins. She had two in 2013 against Arizona and Seattle and one last season against Ohio State.
Oregon will play the second of the three game series with Oregon State on Saturday at 2pm Pacific Time. The series finale is set for Sunday at 11am. Both games will be broadcast on the Pac-12 Network.
