The Pac-12 Player of the Year, Young has led the team in scoring and if you look at Friday’s game against Utah, finishing as well. With jut over two seconds left in the game the Senior took it upon himself to launch a three point shot just beyond the arc that would land in the basket for a three point win over the Utes. The Ducks are on a roll winning twelve of their last thirteen games. Young has turned it up for the second half of the Pac-12 season averaging close to twenty five points per game. He scored thirty in the Pac-12 Tournament first round against Colorado and on Friday put in twenty five points.
Oregon will have to play equally as good on Saturday against Arizona. Teams with big men have given Oregon fits this season and Altman has done a good job with his guys in adapting. Two losses to Arizona and one at UCLA in the Regular season would be somewhat vanquished with a win over the Wildcats on Saturday. Regardless, the Ducks have done enough to make the NCAA Tournament field. Who they will face and where they will play will be determined on Sunday afternoon.
Winning against Arizona may give them a more favorable matchup in the second round, a loss may make it a little tougher to make the Sweet 16. Oregon and Arizona tipoff on Saturday night at 8pm Pacific Time on ESPN.
