On Friday night Scott Heineman lost the ball in the rain in an extra inning loss to Arizona State. Early last week the Oregon Ducks were flying high, ranked in the top ten – now they will likely find themselves out of the polls after this week. Oregon turned to David Peterson on Saturday, but his effort was not enough to snap the skid.
Peterson threw seven and one third innings, but the Ducks Offense could only muster two hits and one run against the Sun Devils. Oregon is now 14-8 and 1-4 in the Pac-12. Arizona State improved to 15-6 and 4-1 in the Conference. Following today’s start, the Oregon Ducks road gets tougher with a five game road trip to UC Riverside on Tuesday and Wednesday and a trip to Arizona for a three game series next weekend.
Oregon and Arizona State will wrap up their three games series as the Sun Devils go for the sweep Sunday at Noon at PK Park.
