Tennessee Titans Quarterback Mariota Has Top Selling NFL Jersey For May
Over the last three years in Eugene, Quarterback Marcus Mariota proved himself on the field and pretty much became a household name overnight. Now, in his first official month on a roster in the National Football League the former Oregon Duck has the top selling jersey for the month of May according to ProFootballTalk.com and the Tennessee Titans.

Mike Florio from Pro Football Talk attributes the sales in part to Mariota’s ‘squeaky clean image’ as he overtook the top pick in the NFL Draft Jamies Winston from Florida State in sales. He is not too quick to judge but also says that Mariota needs to prove himself on the field. I agree with him.
The first week of mini-camp saw Mariota working to get to know his team mates as he had Titans camp and fans excited. The Hawaii Star Advertiser says that the Titans are promoting Mariota heavily with digital billboards around Nashville, and that NFL.com has his jersey prominently displayed and available in several colors. Off the field, the marketing campaign is in good shape, but in the field he has work ahead of him to get into the starting lineup with Tennessee.
Last season, as a rookie, Johnny Manziel had one of the top jerseys behind Peyton Manning and Russell Wilson. Of course one way for Mariota to remain near the top is to become the Starter in Nashville. With fan bases in Hawaii, Oregon, and now Nashville there is plenty to be excited about moving forward both on and off the field.
