AutzenZoo Pac-12 Schedule Breakdown: Arizona Looking To Anu Solomon And Scooby Wright

facebooktwitterreddit

The Arizona Wildcats enter the 2015 season with several household names including Quarterback Anu Solomon and Defensive Star Scooby Wright who will again look to take down Quarterbacks in 2015. The schedule may start out easy for the Wildcats, but some upsets will likely be needed for Arizona to become an upper tier team in the Pac-12 Conference. Oregon does not meet Arizona during the regular season, but could see them in the Pac-12 Championship Game.

Schedule: UTSA (9/3), @Nevada (9/12), Northern Arizona (9/19), UCLA (9/26), @Stanford (10/3), Oregon State (10/10), @Colorado (10/17), Washington State (10/24), @Washington (10/31), @USC (11/7), Utah (11/14), @Arizona State (11/21)

Non-Conference Thoughts

: While UTSA gave the ‘Cats a scare last season at the Alamo Dome don’t expect a repeat in Tucson. Going to Reno always poses a problem in my opinion and should continue to be so. Northern Arizona should be a cake walk to get ready for conference play. Quarterback Anu Solomon could build some confidence early in the season.

Conference Schedule: The schedule maker did no favors to Rich Rod’s team with UCLA and Stanford to start but having Oregon State/Colorado/Washington State is a nice trio before closing with USC/Utah/Arizona State. Road games against the Cardinal, Buffaloes, Huskies, Trojans and in-state foe Sun Devils won’t be easy but I think they can wind up with a decent record.

Outlook: 7-5, seems to be the number I keep coming up with just because I think the PAC-South will be as tough as ever this season. Going to a bowl will give them an opportunity to win eight games but it’s a rough conference schedule after a non-challenging non-conference slate.

Starting Quarterback Anu Solomon is back to lead the Wildcats and could be a Heisman Contender to begin the season. According to AZCentral.com, during the first day of practice, Solomon looked healthier and more athletic, something that could benefit both him and the team in the heart of the Pac-12 Conference season in 2015. Defensive Star Scooby Wright looked right at home and ready for the season to get going.
