Last season the Washington State Cougars went 3-9 and finished 2-7 in the Pac-12 Conference. This season Head Coach Mike Leach is looking to reload some key positions, including at Quarterback where it appears that Luke Falk
has the inside track to start the season against Portland State.
Falk came in and replaced Connor Halladay after he sustained a broken leg late last season. Offensive line is a key area the Cougs are working on entering 2015,
who will look to be the difference maker in the line for the upcoming season. Here are the thoughts on the Utes from our own Mike Vamosi.
Schedule: Portland State (9/5), @Rutgers (9/12), Wyoming (9/19), @California (10/3), @Oregon (10/10), Oregon State (10/17), @Arizona (10/24), Stanford (10/31), Arizona State (11/7), @UCLA (11/14), Colorado (11/21), @Washington (11/27)
Non-Conference Thoughts: I like their non-conference slate which has a long trip to Rutgers but Portland State and Wyoming seem more than winnable for the Washington State Cougars and Mike Leach. That said Wazzu could easily go 1-2 or 2-1 with that schedule.
Conference Schedule: Three of their four games are on the road before facing the Cardinal and Sun Devils with at trip to LA versus UCLA. They end with games they’ll have a chance at a couple wins to end the season.
Outlook: 4-8, I think it’ll be another tough season in the Polluz but can see them improving and getting to four wins this season. There are winnable games and they’ll surprise someone at some point this season.
