If there one one team that could be the Dark Horse in the Pac-12 Conference this season, it is Utah. The Utes will look to get off to a good start for Coach Ty Whittingham who is entering his eleventh season and has had his team preparing for months,
Running Back Devontae Booker will look to lead the Offense this season and could be a Heisman Candidate according to KSL.com. The Defense has key players led by Linebacker Jared Norris that can come off the edge and get to the opposing Quarterback. It will be interesting to watch how the Utah Utes match up with Oregon, USC, and UCLA this season.
Schedule: Michigan (9/3), Utah State (9/11), @Fresno State (9/19), @Oregon (9/26), California (10/10), Arizona State (10/17), @USC (10/24), Oregon State (10/31), @Washington (11/7), @Arizona (11/14), UCLA (11/21), Colorado (11/28)
Non-Conference Thoughts: They’ll be in the spotlight on opening night when they’re the secondary story against Michigan. Facing Utah and Fresno State should be nice challenges leading up to conference play as well.
Conference Schedule: Tough opening at Oregon then seeing Cal and Arizona State in Salt Lake City before going to USC. Back-to-back games near the end at Arizona and UCLA look daunting before ending against Colorado.
Outlook: 7-5, The Utes are the PAC-12’s mystery team because they can go either way in terms of what that final record will wind up being.
