The Oregon Ducks Volleyball team started the season 3-0 by sweeping though the Temple Invitational not losing a single set and taking out Temple, St John’s and Navy in the process. Oregon continues their road trip to start the season at George Washington on Tuesday night and the road to victory was not as easy
The Oregon Ducks found themselves fighting. Down 2-0, the team came back to win the match 3-2 and take their record on the season to 4-0. The Ducks hit just .087 the first two sets but were over .300 the rest of the game.
Martenne Bettendorf returned to the court after a brief injury, but it was the Freshman on the team that left their mark in the win. Lindsay Vander Weide had thirteen kills in the three set comeback. Maggie Scott finished with forty-eight assists. The Oregon Ducks now face two teams that are usually NCAA Tournament contenders in Florida and Nebraska.
Through a tough early schedule the 11th ranked Oregon Ducks are proving to be road warriors early in the season, the biggest test for the team is to come this weekend. The Gators meet Oregon on Friday at 1pm Pacific time, The Cornhuskers take on the Ducks on Saturday at 3pm Pacific Time. Live scoring for both matches can be found at GoDucks.com
