Oregon Ducks Volleyball Loses In 5-Set Heartbreaker to Nebraska

Last Friday, the Oregon Ducks were swept by Florida, who was the better team. On Saturday they had a chance to make a statement of their own and started out taking the first two sets against the number four team in the country in Nebraska. However, the tide changed after the intermission and Oregon fell, for their second loss on the season to the Cornhuskers
. This season has started out well for the Oregon Ducks, and it is always a challenge starting the year on the road.
Oregon won the Temple Invitational and did not give up a set in any of the three matches against Navy, Temple or St. Joseph’s last week. The Ducks entered the weekend undefeated, and came out licking their wounds after the weekend. Oregon hit .324 in the first set and .286 in the second. The Ducks were never out of it staying within five points to close out the final three sets losing the third set 23-25, the fourth set 25-20 and the final set 15-12. Lauren Page had ten kills on the night and Amanda Benson finished with twenty-one digs.
The roadtrip continues for Oregon as they head to Texas to take on 6-1 Texas-San Antonio on Monday at 4pm Pacific time. The game will be streamed live via GoDucks.com.
