The Oregon Ducks enter Pac-12 play this week hosting a team that has started the season hitting on all cylinders. The Utes are at the top of the South Division and are 3-0 on the season. Running Back Devontae Booker has rushed for three-hundred forty five yards and has four touchdowns on the season. Last weekend at Fresno State he rushed for one-hundred fifty six yards and two of those scores. He has also been a threat through the air catching fourteen passes for one-hundred twenty six yards this season. Utah has a similar question as Oregon does when it comes to the Quarterback position.

Utah Utes Quarterback Travis Wilson left during the second non-conference game with Utah with an injured shoulder. Backup Kendal Thompson came in and went 8 for 10 for fifty six yards. He played a full game last weekend against Fresno State going 19 for 25 for one-hundred fifty six yards and a touchdown. It is not yet know if Wilson will start for the Utes, but Utah Head Coach Ty Whittingham is taking no chances in who his team will be preparing for on Saturday according to DesertNews.com

"It’s a best-guess scenario, and we’ll make our determination on what we think is going to happen. (We’ll) have a Plan B obviously as well if we’re incorrect in our assumption, but we’re proceeding as if Vernon is going to be the guy.”Utah Head Coach Ty Whittingham on Who the Utes are Preparing For As The Ducks’ Quarterback(via Desert News)"

Oregon has owned the series of late with the Utes winning the last five games including last season’s 51-27 game in Salt Lake City. The matchup this season will feature two ranked teams in the Top 20. Oregon is ranked 13th, Utah comes in ranked 18th and is averaging three-hundred forty eight yards and just over thirty points per game this season. Of course the tale will be told with who starts at Quarterback for both teams on Saturday evening in Eugene, which will unfold as the week goes on.

Many are anticipating a matchup of Vernon Adams and Travis Wilson, both of which have very capable backups which has clearly been shown this season. Backup Jeff Lockie is 1-0 and threw for two touchdowns last weekend against Georgia State. Utah Backup/Starter Kendal Thompson also started this past weekend on the road at Fresno State and helped Utah get to 3-0.

"“It’s a big-boy pad day, you better bring your big-boy pads because it’s going to be a physical game. It was last year, the year before that. I mean, they’re big ol’ physical guys. They’re going to try to beat you up.”Oregon Ducks Special Teams and Tight Ends Coach on the Matchup With Utah on Wednesday(via The Register Guard)"

Utah and Oregon will kickoff at 5:45pm Pacific Time Saturday on FOX.
