Oregon Ducks Volleyball Ends Season Opening Road Trip at 7-4

The Oregon Women’s Volleyball team struggled on Sunday against fourteenth ranked Arizona State falling in three sets. It was a tale of playing catchup in the first two sets. In the third and final set, Oregon could not hold onto a lead to extend the game. The performance in the third set was closer to how the Ducks have fought through adversity in the early going this season on the road, but the game did get the Ducks one step closer to home. The Ducks enter this week ranked 22nd in the country

Lindsey Vander Weide is quickly becoming a force in the Pac-12 as she was during the non-conference part of 2015. Through two Conference games she averaged 4.71 kills per set to go along with 4.29 digs per set and hitting at a .293 clip according to GoDucks.com. Amanda Benson had 18 digs an leads he Pac-12 Conference with 4.80 digs per set.
After a week the team is 1-1 in Pac-12 Conference play and 7-4 overall. The team had a strong performance to open earlier in the week beating Oregon State on the road. So far, the road is the only thing this team has seen, until this week.
The Oregon Ducks will return home to the friendly confines of Matthew Knight Arena this week taking on Colorado on Friday night at 8pm Pacific Time and Utah on Saturday at 5pm Pacific Time. The season opener will be on Pac-12 Networks.
