Former Oregon Ducks Quarterback Marcus Mariota has had quite the first month in his NFL Career. From throwing four touchdown passes in his first game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and tying an NFL Record from Hall of Famer Fran Tarkenton to struggling against the Cleveland Browns Defense and getting sacked seven times in Week 2 in a loss to the Browns, Mariota has shown resolve in big situations. He threw two touchdowns in the loss to Cleveland and nearly brought the Tennessee Titans back for a chance to win, but Cleveland proved to be the better team.
Last weekend against the Indianapolis Colts. Mariota had a chance to tie the game after throwing a touchdown, but the two point conversion failed. He has held his composure in the first month and has completed sixty two percent of his passes for eight-hundred thirty three yards to go along with eight touchdowns this season. According to the Tennessean his passer rating is 109.2 which is good enough for the eighth best passer rating for a Quarterback in their first three starts in NFL History. In September, Mariota was named Offensive Player of the Week following his performance against Tampa Bay.
The Tennessee Titans will look to get back to even on the season, now at 1-3 as they visit the Buffalo Bills on Sunday. Kickoff against the Bills is set for 10am Pacific Time on CBS.
