UPDATE: It was announced pregame over the PA at Autzen Stadium that Jeff Lockie was going to get the second start of his career. Expect Taylor Alie to get on the field similar to what Oregon did against Colorado. Lockie is throwing the ball pretty well and completing 66 percent of his passes this season.

The Oregon Ducks will look to make another change and have their third different quarterback starting a game this season. Vernon Adams started the season against Eastern Washington before breaking his index finger. Jeff Lockie earned the first start of his career against Utah two weeks ago and this week walk-on and former State Champion Taylor Alie will get his opportunity to be in the starting lineup for the Oregon Ducks against the Washington State Cougars according to 247Sports. It is expected to be a very wet night at Autzen, but I will not go as far in this post to say it will rain.
Mark Helfrich is sending a message. Best player plays. Starting walk on QB Taylor Alie vs Wash St. #GoDucks

I expect, similar to last week that even though Alie will start the game, Oregon will be smart and also mix in Jeff Lockie to spell Alie. It should be a great opportunity for the walk-on to show what he can do. As far as Iām concerned he is a dual threat Quarterback who can not only use his arm, but can also use his legs to get out of trouble, and also pick up the first down when needed. If you watched the game against Georgia State earlier this season, he can also run for long touchdowns. The report also says that Adams will not see the field for the second straight week as he is recovering from a broken index finger. This is a good move.
For Oregon to compete in the month of November against Cal, Stanford, and USC and hope to get back into the Top 25 Conversation, they will need a healthy Vernon Adams at the helm to get them there. Oregon still has plenty to play for with a Pac-12 Title game appearance still in front of them.
Autzen Zoo will have LIVE Coverage of the game today starting at 2pm Pacific Time. Washington State and Oregon kickoff just after 3pm Pacific Time on Pac-12 Networks.
