In his first season at the helm, Oregon Women’s Basketball Head Coach Kelly Graves went 13-17 with the season ending in the first round of the Pac-12 Tournament. Entering his second season, Graves will look to improve and he will have some new talent to do it including three Starters from last season including rebound machine Jillian Alleyne along with Lexi Peterson and Lexi Bando. Three players that have experience on the court with two different coaches going back to Paul Westhead. With a new scheme in place over the last year, the Ducks should be competitive in 2015.

According to the Pac-12 Coaches Preseason Poll, Oregon will again struggle in 2015. An eight place finish is what has been predicted for the Oregon Ducks. Oregon State, who was ranked throughout the season last year is ranked to finish first followed by Stanford and Arizona State. Cal, UCLA and USC round out the middle. Last season there were several games that were lost by the Oregon Ducks by less than ten points. If Oregon can get a handle on those teams this season, an above .500 mark should be within reach, and with it possibly a post season bid in either the NIT or the NCAA Tournament.

Graves is just in his second season and the outlook for the Oregon Women should be hopeful. They bring back a wealth of experience as well as some very talented new combers. The key will be to stay healthy in 2015. Oregon has a scrimmage scheduled for October 24th for fans to get a look at the team heading into the season.

The 2015 season begins with a trip to Chapel Hill, North Carolina to take on the Tar Heels, a team that beat Oregon at Matthew Knight Arena last season. It will be an early morning tip off set for 9:30am Pacific Time on Sunday, November 15th.
