It was another game of inches for the Oregon Ducks, but this time they had a comeback and picked up a hard earned win over Colorado on Saturday snapping a three game losing streak. The team is now one game over .500, which is where you need to be to qualify for post season play, but right now the team is a long way away from that point. Oregon needed a player to step up and lead and Martenne Bettendorf led the charge.
Oregon found themselves in a 2-1 hole against Colorado and Bettendorf had a night hitting at a .200 clip to go along with a 45 attempts which where good enough for 18.5 points. She came through in the clutch in the fifth and final set for the Ducks. She put down six of the final thirteen shots in the final set that gave Oregon a 15-11 win in the set and a much needed win in the Standings according to GoDucks.com Taylor Agost had the best individual hitting percentage on the night at .361 and talled the most points for Oregon at 18, but it was Bettendorf that saw her confidence get a boost that can help push this team the rest of the season.
The Oregon Ducks return home this week to take on Stanford on Thursday night and California on Sunday Afternoon. Oregon will then travel to California to take on USC and UCLA before returning home to close out the regular season with four games against Arizona State and Oregon State to close out November. The post season is still within reach for this team, but moving forward every loss hurts more. Wins may be enough to get them to hosting in the first and second round of the NCAA Tournament, but one game at a time.
