Last season was one to forget for the Carolina Panthers. As a team they were outscored 35 points per game and did not reach the seven game win mark until December. What a difference a year makes. Last night, Carolina defeated Indianapolis in overtime to remain undefeated this season at 7-0. We will find out over the next few weeks of the Panthers are a legitimate contender with games upcoming against the NFL’s Elite in Green Bay. The rest of the season should come fairly easy with games against Tennessee, Dallas, and Washington.

One of the big reasons for success this season is former Oregon Running Back Jonathan Stewart whose hard running style has become bruising to opposing Defenses. Against Indianapolis, Stewart had 82 yards with a touchdown. On the season, he has 505 yards and three touchdowns on the season. These are not necessarily eye popping stats, but they yards where he carried the ball counted 100 percent in getting the team to 7-0 this season.

Carolina is the lone undefeated team in the NFC at 7-0 and lead the Atlanta Falcons by one game. Atlanta is 6-2. In looking at the schedule going undefeated the rest of the season is a distinct possibility for this team with Jonathan Stewart and what appears to be a rejuvenated Cam Newton at Quarterback taking the Offensive Reigns.
