Last time Marcus Mariota played it was in a loss to Miami. He has been out for three weeks with an MCL injury following a nasty hit from the Dolphins Olivier Vernon. He put a brace on to finish out the game against Miami, which was a loss. He has been out of the starting lineup since. In three weeks with Zach Mettenberger at the helm, the team has lost two games and fallen to 1-6 after losses to Atlanta and Houston. The Titans took measures to move forward and fired Head Coach Ken Whisenhunt earlier this week and named Mike Mularkey interim Head Coach.
Mularkey announced that Mariota will start this week as the Tennessee Titans hit the road to face the New Orleans Saints and Drew Brees. According to Yahoo! News, Mularkey said his young signal caller is mobile enough to play, but will wear a brace on Sunday.
"He’s going to play. I think each day he has gotten better. To be on the turf (for Friday’s practice) here, which is the same turf he’s going to be on Sunday, it was good to see him move around like he did.Titans Interim Coach Mike Mularkey on Mariota’s Status for this weekend against New Orleans(via Yahooo!
