With a new Interim Head Coach in Mike Mularkey, former Oregon Ducks Quarterback Marcus Mariota started the game against the New Orleans Saints in the Superdome on Sunday. Not only did he start the game, but he had the final exclamation point on a much needed win for a 1-6 team that fired their Head Coach last week. It was a back and forth battle throughout and at moments it appeared that Drew Brees and the Saints had the upper hand, but the Rookie had other thoughts.
Marcus Mariota hooked up with Tight End Delanie Walker for two touchdowns. Late in the Fourth Quarter the Tennessee Titans were down 28-20 and with 7:11 left in the game the former Oregon Ducks Signal Caller found Justin Hunter in the endzone for the touchdown and followed that with a two point conversion to Walker to tie the game and send it to Overtime. Unlike last month when Mariota was unsuccessful in a two point conversion in a loss to the Indianapolis Colts at home, this time around was different. With the conversion, the Titans had the momentum and took advantage.
A pass from Marcus Mariota to Anthony Fasano would give the Tennessee Titans their second win on the season. For the game the 2nd Overall Pick in the 2015 NFL Draft was welcomed back with open arms by Titans fans throwing 28 for 39 for 371 yards and three touchdowns. Ironically, Drew Brees also threw for 28 for 39 yards for 3 touchdowns.
