Saturday night was a good night for the Oregon Ducks and their fans. The team showed up as a whole. Quarterback Vernon Adams had the offense firing on all cylinders. The Defense showed up and held Cal Quarterback Jared Goff in check for a big win over the Cal Bears, but it was not quite enough to get them back into the Associated Press or Coaches Poll this week. With three losses, Oregon would have been the only three loss team to be ranked, but they came just short in the Coaches Poll coming in at 29th. The parity is clear between the two polls as the AP Poll left Washington State out with just two votes. The Cougars beat Arizona State on Saturday.

One thing is clear. If Oregon defeats Stanford this week, they will return to both polls. The Cardinal are on a roll and undefeated in Pac-12 play. They enter this week ranked 7th in both polls. Utah has also returned to the top ten coming in 10th in the AP Poll and 13th in the Coaches Poll. The top five differ with the Associated Press poll tabbing Clemson number one, Coaches Poll has Ohio State in the top spot. The College Football Playoff Committee will likely keep Clemson in the top spot after their win this past weekend.

The Game of the Week saw 2nd ranked LSU and 4th ranked Alabama. The Crimson Tide took the upper hand and moved into the top four of both polls. The Tigers saw not only their playoff hopes drop to 9th, but also their Heisman Candidate Leonard Fournette lose some votes. He was held to 31 yards on 19 carries against Alabama on Saturday. The Oregon Ducks are coming off their highest Offensive performance ever with 777 yards of Offense.
