The Nation’s Top Uncommitted Quarterback for the Class of 2017 had made his college choice. Ryan Kelley chose the Oregon Ducks over several other Pac-12 schools on Thursday. He will have some tough shoes to follow with Marcus Mariota, who will always be at the top of the list when it comes to Quarterbacks at Oregon. Even though this season has not quite gone as planned for Oregon Fans, Vernon Adams has turned things around and now enters the toughest stretch of the season as the team will now attempt to climb the bowl rankings for the best placement possible. The future for the Oregon Ducks at Quarterback is solid with Kelley as the cornerstone. However, the name of the game will have to be patience as he will not arrive until 2017. One more year.
Of course, the Oregon Ducks have some solid pieces at the QB position, it is just that none of them appears to really fit in 2015 with the exception of Vernon Adams. Next season will see Jeff Lockie in his Senior season, along with Travis Jonsen who could end up starting. Morgan Mahalak is also an option, but back to Kelley.
He is one of the last Quarterbacks to come off the board for the 2017 Recruiting Class. He visited during the Washington State game and even though the team lost on the field on Overtime, he had good things to say about his trip to Eugene according to the Oregonian.
"Great visit, amazing coaching staff, phenomenal facilities. All of the players seem like they really enjoy themselves up there. They have a great tradition up there.Oregon Commit Ryan Kelley via text message about his visit to Oregon (via the Oregonian)"
