The Oregon Ducks began their 111th season on the hardwood on Friday night hosting Jackson State and taking down the Tigers 80-52 off a 20 point effort from Freshman Tyler Dorsey. The supporting cast made it look easy with steals and blocks on Defense, including five from Chris Boucher. Oregon hit 49 percent for the game from the floor and 41 percent from three point range including a monster half court shot to end the first half from Dwayne Benjamin that bought the crowd of 5,577 at Matthew Knight Arena to their feet in the first game of the regular season.

The Oregon Ducks now face a ranked Baylor Bears team on their home court in a big game on Monday night. The 22nd ranked Baylor Bears defeated Stephen F Austin on Friday night 97-55. Four of their five starters were in double figures including Rico Geathers who hit eight of nine shots for 18 points, Lester Medford had 13, Al Freeman had 11, and Taurean Prince added 10. The Bears also had two bench players in double figures on the night. 31 assists and just 8 turnovers saw Baylor rout the Lumberjacks and that will be on full display at Matthew Knight Arena on Monday night.
