The Oregon Ducks sixth man stepped up in big way on Wednesday night in a pre Thanksgiving game against Arkansas State. Benjamin led four scorers in double figures. Benjamin sparked an 11-0 run early in the game and Dana Altman’s squad never looked back. The Ducks sixth man shot 10 of 17 from the floor for 25 points to lead the team, but the story of the night was Chris Boucher, who has shown early this season that he is the real deal on Offense and Defense.
With Jordan Bell, the Oregon Ducks lead shot blocker from last season out with a foot injury for an undisclosed amount of time, Boucher has stepped up his game on both ends of the floor. He almost had a triple double on Wednesday night against Arkansas State. He had 17 points, 9 rebounds and an Oregon record 9 blocked shots in the game. The Ducks had 11 blocked shots on the night. Freshman Tyler Dorsey had 15 points and while the shot were not falling for Elgin Cook he contributed on the Defensive end with 2 blocked shots, 4 rebounds and 4 assists.
Dana Altman appears to have a team that can score from anywhere on the floor. Any given night, through five games the players on the floor can get it done and while the player who has stood out the most has been Boucher, the Offense has seen key contributions from everyone. Dwayne Benjamin was in on the fun on Wednesday.
