Sunday was a busy day on the College Football landscape and many were scouring Social Media in search of who was going where shortly after the College Football Playoff 4 were announced. The Pac-12 will see almost the entire Conference playing in the post season, however Stanford, who had a shot at finishing in the Top 4 will have to settle for the Rose Bowl and a game against Iowa. The Hawkeyes lost to Michigan State in the Big Ten Championship on Saturday night. For fans of Oregon the landing spot had been predicted for weeks and those predictions came true on Sunday.
The Oregon Ducks will head back to the Alamo Bowl for the second time in three years. They beat Texas back in 2013. However this season will see a matchup worth drooling over. Two Quarterbacks that could have had their teams on very different paths this season who were injured at different points to meet on January 2nd. Vernon Adams for Oregon injured his index finger in the opening game against Eastern Washington. Texas Christian Quarterback Trevone Boykin had the Horned Frogs ranked 5th in the country before losing to Oklahoma State and leaving their next game against Kansas with a knee injury.
This is one of those games that ‘if’ things fell right for both teams could have easily been one of the games of the College Football Playoff. As it stands it will be one of two high powered offenses that can throw the ball around. The Oregon Ducks(15) finished the season at 10-3 and 2nd in the Pac-12 North. TCU(11) finished at 10-2 and 3rd in the Big 12 Conference.
