The Oregon Ducks started the season on the right foot, but a recent road trip saw some bumps in the road of what could turn out to be a very long season. Dana Altman saw his team lost two of three on the road against UNLV and this past weekend at Boise State. In the game against the Broncos two key players in Casey Benson and Dwayne Benjamin were bit by the injury bug. On Monday night against UC Irvine, both returned and were key in a win over the Anteaters.
Five players scored in double figures led by Elgin Cook who had 26 points and was 10 of 16 from the floor. Cook has brought his A game of late and with the injuries has made his presence felt on the court. Cook also had three assists and two steals on the night. Turnovers were the word of the night as UC Irvine committed 22 for the game, a good part of them in the first half allowing Oregon to build a 44-36 lead going into halftime.
Tyler Dorsey also returned to the Oregon Lineup after missing the last two games, he finished the game with 12 points going 3 for 5 from beyond the arc with a steal. The Oregon Defense had a big night with 6 blocks and 12 steals. Chris Boucher finished with a double double netting 11 points and 13 rebounds against UC Irvine.
