The Philadelphia Eagles and Chip Kelly had a season of injuries and miscues that can be corrected, but will the former Oregon Head Coach be given the time to reinvent his Offense that brought him to the NFL?

Following two seasons where former Oregon Ducks Head Coach Chip Kelly saw success in the NFL taking the Philadelphia Eagles to the playoffs in back to back seasons, the 2015 season will see his grand experiment ultimately end in a trip home after an up and down season that saw some successes, but more miscues and failure. The perfect example on Saturday night was dropped passes that could have made a big difference in the last half of the game.

Running Back Kenjon Barner started out the month with a career high 39 yards, the former Oregon Ducks Running Back played a role in the win over New England last week, but against the Washington Redskins he could not hold onto the ball, and while he did not have any costly fumbles he managed to hold onto a single reception on the night with a handful of dropped passes that could have kept drives alive.

Kiko Alonso, who was a big offseason acquisition has also had an up and down season, dealing with a knee injury, but finding a way to get on the field. He had 8 tackles on the night with 3 assists against Washington. Despite the injuries and the struggles, it appears that Chip Kelly will have another season with the team to get it right.

Kelly will have to find his way again, and I have no doubt he will. He has to find a place for his big money players like DeMarco Murray, or find a way to adjust his scheme so that he can be more efficient. You don’t go from one of the best rushers in the NFL one season and the basement the next without there being another issue. If he was injured, it makes sense for the statistical drop, but that is all in the past.

The Washington Redskins won the NFC East Title on Saturday night and will head to the Playoffs. The Philadelphia Eagles close out the season visiting the New York Giants next weekend. A game with two teams that will go home for the offseason following the game. If nothing else, a losing season does provide a better pick in the 2016 NFL Draft so there is something positive to look forward too following a season where Chip Kelly and the Eagles never really showed they deserved a Playoff spot.
