Oregon Ducks In The NFL: Marcus Mariota Will Continue To Get Better In 2016
Former Oregon Ducks Quarterback Marcus Mariota has had one of the most successful Rookie Seasons ever for an Oregon Duck. The Tennessee Titans will play their final game of the season today against the Indianapolis Colts and regardless of the outcome, the team will build around Mariota for the future as well as be able to start with one of the top picks in the 2016 NFL Draft. Mariota missed the game last week with an injury which ended up being a 34-6 loss to the Houston Texans.

Marcus Mariota has played injured this season but still managed close to 3000 yards through the air to go with 19 touchdowns to go with some ‘Mariota Magic’ with a long run against the Jacksonville Jaguars for a touchdown and lining up at Wide Receiver and catching a touchdown against the New York Jets on the road. The biggest issues this season has been team injuries and an inconsistent Offensive Line for the Tennessee Titans, not to mention an Interim Coach who has done as good as he could with what he had in Mike Mularkey. Tennessee will be looking for a Head Coach in the Offeseason and while Chip Kelly is available after being let go from the Philadelphia Eagles last week, he may not be the best option.
The next few months will tell the tale. NFL and College Coaches will begin their firing carousel and it will be interesting to see who lands in Tennessee. Could Marcus Mariota be reunited with his former Head Coach at Oregon in Chip Kelly? While Kelly is the leading rumor, Nick Saban could be an intriguing candidate if he can be pulled away from Alabama. Regardless of whether Mariota plays Sunday, with a loss the Titans will likely secure the top pick in the upcoming NFL Draft. A win gets them no worse than the 5th pick, depending on how the rest of the day shakes out in the National Football League.
