Marcus Mariota and Titans End Season 3-13 To Secure Top Pick In 2016 NFL Draft

The 2016 NFL Draft is six months away and the Tennessee Titans will have the number one overall pick following a 3-13 season.

It has been a season of growing pains for former Oregon Ducks Quarterback Marcus Mariota and the Tennessee Titans. While he played injured he managed to throw for over 3000 yards and 19 touchdowns in 2015 with and Offensive Line that was falling apart around him and even managed to play well amidst a coaching change that saw the man who played a big role in bringing him to Tennessee was let go and the Offensive Coordinator took over the rest of the season.

On Sunday, Tennessee lost to the Indianapolis Colts putting the Titans on the clock for the first pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. It has been reported be ESPN that the Titans have fired General Manager Ruston Webber and will look for new leadership in the front office. Interim Head Coach Mike Mularkey could also be in line to become Head Coach, along with some other possible candidates as the coaching carousel has already started spinning following the end of the regular season. Tennessee is certainly going to be an attractive place to lead.

It was an injury plagued season for Marcus Mariota and Company where adversity reared its ugly head on numerous occasions where if things went the other way we may be talking about a Playoff team from a weak division rather than a team that has a top draft pick for back to back seasons. The Tennessee Titans finished last in the AFC South with a 3-13 record.
