The Oregon Ducks have had issues at the Quarterback position this past season, that was clear whenever Vernon Adams was not on the field. Of course, Adams, like Marcus Mariota before him was a unique talent and possessed a higher level awareness that cannot be coached. Now, entering 2016 the Ducks have added a mastermind when it comes to a Quarterbacks Coach according to a report from Fox Sports.
Washington State Inside Receivers Coach David Yost is set to be hired by Mark Helfrich and the Oregon Ducks. While it is not a Defensive move, which is expected to come in the next few weeks, the hire makes an immediate statement for a team that is looking to take the next step in competing Offensively for a Pac-12 and National Championship in 2016. Yost, while at Washington State helped lead the Cougars with the top passing attack in the country with almost 400 yards per game through the air according to 247Sports.
Yost is better fit as a Quarterbacks Coach where he started his coaching career in Missouri in 2001. In 2007 he can be credited with turning Tigers Quarterback Chase Daniel into a Heisman Trophy Candidate. Blaine Gabbert also became a first round NFL Draft pick with the help of Yost. The hire is a good one for the Oregon Ducks moving forward and should provide immediate divenends as Oregon now looks to the future of the position.

Entering Spring Camp Dakota Prukop, Jeff Lockie and Travis Jonsen will likely be in the mix for the Starting role in 2016. With his Wide Receiver experience the team Chemistry on Offense could be in a very good place for years to come with Yost setting the table.
