The preseason media poll placed Oregon 4th in the Pac-12 Conference behind 3rd ranked Colorado. Arizona was the run away favorite to win the Pac-12, but the season so far has been anything but predictable. Arizona had fallen on several occasions, and Oregon has put together a three game win streak after stumbling into the Conference slate with a loss on the road against Oregon State.
Last Time Out (vs Utah)
- Oregon shot 54 percent from the floor at Utah while holding the Utes to 33 percent
- Dillon Brooks and Casey Benson scored in double figures with 15 and 10 points respectively
- Chris Boucher had 6 of the Ducks 9 blocks on Defense to go with 9 team Steals
The Colorado Buffaloes won 11 of 12 to start the season and a 2-2 in Pac-12 play, 13-4 overall. Similar to Utah they hold a solid home record against the Oregon Ducks who have never won in Boulder. Not even a month into the regular season, the Oregon Ducks are in unchartered territory with a chance on Sunday to be at the top of the Pac-12 in 2015. For Dana Altman it has been one game at a time this season and so far it has paid off.
The Buffaloes Josh Scott is averaging 18 points per game this season and hitting over 56 percent of his shots from the field. Last season, Oregon took advantage of turnovers in the Pac-12 Tournament to defeat Colorado turning an average 13 turnovers into an eye-popping 27 points. This is the kind of success that will be needed on Sunday to come out with a win. Over the last two weeks, Dillon Brooks has the Oregon Ducks on a roll.
After a loss against Oregon State, the Ducks have reeled off three in a row. Brooks is a big reason for the teams success in 2015 and he has Oregon just a half game back in the Pac-12 Conference averaging just over 15 points per game this season. The team is building some key chemistry as the season progresses with Chris Boucher hitting over 50 percent from the floor and averaging over 4 blocks per game.
