On Sunday 247Sports reported that the Oregon Commit wanted too look at Michigan as a possible landing spot. Once you are committed to Oregon, the Ducks do not allow visits elsewhere, so McDoom did what was in his best interest and Oregon now has an open scholarship for the Class of 2016. Both the Oregon Offense and Defense have hired new faces in the last month. It is unclear if this was part of McDoom’s reasoning to look elsewhere.
When he announced his intent to come to Eugene he said it was his ‘Dream School’, but with then Offensive Coordinator Scott Frost departing and David Yost coming over from Washington State to take over the Wide Receivers, McDoom may have felt it was not in his best interest to remain with the program. In the end, he could return, but his scholarship may not be waiting for him.
ESPN lists Eddie McDoom as their 26th best Wide Receiver in their annual ESPN300 Recruiting list. 247Sports lists him as the 57 ranked athlete out of Florida and the 67th best wideout nationally. He visited Michigan back in December and has set another visit with the Wolverines for January 22nd.
