The Oregon Ducks Track and Field team started the 2016 Indoor season with five wins over the weekend kicking off an Olympic year with a solid start.

Sophomore Raevyn Rogers did not disappoint coming off her 2015 NCAA Championship season in the 800 meters. She picked up where she left off in the 800 meters clocking a time of 1:26.34, the second fastest time for an American this season in the race. Rogers anchored the team at the UW Preview and several new combers to the team also had impressive debuts for the Oregon Ducks.
Freshman Brooke Feldmeier came in second for a 1-2 finish in the 800 meter final. In the shotput Freshman Itohan Aikhionbare set a personal best and meet record in the event. In her first season as a collegiate athlete the throw ranks second on the Oregon All-Time list behind Junior Teammate Brittany Mann according to GoDucks.com.
Dual sport athlete Tony Brooks James put away his football shoes for a pair of running shoes and ran a 6.79 in the 60 making him the top performer as a Collegiate athlete this season for the race. The Oregon Ducks also had some key finishes in the middle distance races on the Women’s side.
Alli Cash started the season off on the right foot as the NCAA Leader in the Women’s mile clocking a time of 4:37.26. Annie LeBlanc is transitioning from the 800 to the 1000 and showed promise with the extra distance coming in second place at just over 2:45. Overall five Oregon Ducks had key finishes to begin the Indoor season.
