Former Philadelphia and Oregon Ducks Head Coach Chip Kelly was introduced as the new Head Coach of the San Francisco 49ers on Tuesday. In Philadelphia he also had player control, but with the 49ers he will have one role, Head Coach. That should make the transition easier for Kelly who did find early success in the City of Brotherly Love, but injuries and bad decisions forced his firing before the end of the 2015 season. His new team made it to the Super Bowl just three seasons ago, but there is not much left from that team. Four players in total will be on the 2016 roster, but Kelly has a lot to work with.

San Francisco has 12 NFL Draft picks in May. Whether the former Philadelphia Coach will get it right in the City By The Bay remains to be seen. When he was introduced, he kept it simple saying, “I want to just Coach.” and not worry about the front office decision making. In speaking with the Media, Kelly looks forward to a bright future with the franchise, “They’re prepared for the future and it’s an exciting time to be here, part of that.” according to ESPN.

Chip Kelly was Head Coach of the Philadelphia Eagles from 2009-2012 before taking his high powered Offense to the NFL and the Philadelphia Eagles in 2013. He was fired before the final week of the 2015 season finished his time in Philadelphia with a 26-21 Record making the Playoffs one time in his first season with the team.
